This spacious 4-bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms home (maximum of 8 guests) is West Coast beach living at its best. The light-infused home boasts large open principal rooms, a well-equipped chef’s kitchen, floor-to-ceiling glass windows on two levels, 2 gas fireplaces, a large patio on the lower level, an oceanfront deck on the upper level, and a large private deck on the west side of the house for warm sunny afternoons when the sun has moved around the house. There is private parking for 2 cars in the driveway. The main level of the house has been designed for “handicap access” and one of the master bedrooms (there are 2 masters in the house) is on the main level. There is easy access for kayak and canoe launching at the house, and numerous boat ramps within a 2-kilometre radius.
An Ideal Waterfront Location
Departure Bay is a short distance from shopping and dining with a number of restaurants within walking distance of the house. Nanaimo is a thriving community of parks, beaches, charming eclectic shops, waterfront walks, marinas and myriad dining choices from fine to casual, plus all the modern convenience needed for an enjoyable stay. These include grocery stores, gas stations, libraries, theatres, restaurants and delis, specialty food shops, spas, doctors and dentists, massage therapists and beauty salons.
The city of Nanaimo sits mid-Island and is a central arrival and departure point for BC Ferries to the BC Mainland. There is also an airport, or you can come and go via seaplane (Harbour Air or Seair Seaplanes) into Nanaimo Harbour from downtown Vancouver or Vancouver International Airport. The seaplane trip is only 20 minutes!
